SEMA – Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association

SEMA liaise with the European FEM Storage Industry body to establish European wide storage industry design standards and Codes of Practice. SEMA is the UK storage industry association that liaises with the Health and Safety Executive to ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety are adhered to in their advice to their membership.

The SEMA Approved member are a group of approximately 30 resellers and designers of storage equipment projects in the UK all committed to work at the highest standards in our industry.

NSI has sat on the SEMA distributor committee since its inception. One of the Group’s main aims is to deliver and demonstrate the clear difference between companies such as NSI Projects, with our extensive resources and quality standards, from the rest of the market, which may or may not comply with these standards. In line with our commitment to the highest possible standards, NSI do not promote the use or sale of second hand racking.

The SEMA quality initiative and audit is the first step in defining and demonstrating this “clear blue water” between a member and the rest of the industry. The SEMA audit measures 24 areas of quality, many specific to our industry that ensures excellence in process, in design compliance and in delivery projects with the highest H&S standards and as such the first UK scheme in our industry to do this. Passing this audit is now a prerequisite for approved membership. NSI Projects consistently are awarded the Highly Commended status in this audit.
