The SEMA Approved Rack Inspector and Safety Inspection Procedure
An annual Storage Equipment Safety Inspection is a requirement under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and the Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
In addition to helping to provide a safe environment, a regular inspection and maintenance program will also help to ensure the continuity of your operation.
Our rack inspectors have many years of experience and are qualified SEMA Approved Racking Inspectors (SARI).
The inspector is able to:
- Understand good/safe storage practices, to enable them to confirm that a storage system is safe, ensure correct loading information is provided, and understand the limitations of the racking system.
- Understand the correct use of the racking system, identify any hazards and carry out detailed safety inspections.
- Carry out damage assessments and decide on actions to be taken and identify unsafe conditions of loads on pallets.
- Make recommendations on the correct use of the racking system and understand the limitations on the repair of racking systems, and identify/ understand the consequence of any storage change.
